Devourers are a type of infested closely related to the Stalker. The Devourer differs from the Stalker with the appearance of large bright red spots near the head and green acid on the claws. The mutation was brought about by combining the genes of the Stalker with the Baneling. This allows the Devourer to hit much harder and be significantly more armored. The mutation is rare, making them harder to find than Stalkers. Devourers are never found in large numbers, but can be found as part of the ambient hordes in Alpha Company and Chapter 2 of Easy Company. They will also be found near the Military Base, Communications Tower, and Fort in the Apollo Security Team Campaign.

Spawn Banelings[]

The Devourer mutation is unstable. The Baneling gene that created the Devourer causes Banelings and Blindlings to grow within it. A dead Devourer releases these Banelings and Blindlings upon death. This makes killing Devourers at range a top priority. Devourers can often get them close to the marines with cliff walk and release the dangerous Banelings and Blindlings when they are killed.

Cliff Walk[]

A Devourer is capable of walking up and down short cliffs just like Stalkers they mutated from. This enables them to often counteract the terrain advantage that Marines have when facing the hordes, as well as act as spotters for ranged infested.
