Hulks are larger zombies with armored shells growing out of their sides and shoulders. They are larger, stronger, and hit harder than their regular zombie brethren. Hulks are fairly common; they never appear simply wandering around. Often, Hulks are seen leading the charge during large hordes, absorbing gunfire, so their smaller comrades can survive to get close. Hulks occasionally spawn patches of creep when they die, greatly increasing the speed of infested hordes.

Hulks have thick armor that is almost highly resistant to the standard UA General Purpose Rifle-12 and UA 420 Assault Rifle. Hulks are almost completely resistant to the MP9A2 Sub-Machine Gun. Because of their high armor, use weapons and skills that bypass armor to overcome this. The Flamethrower MK-3 is typically the best choice for most marines. It is most common, and should be the go-to-tool for dealing with these brutes. The XM814 Heavy Machine Gun also works well, but is less common. Tanking classes like the Protection Assault typically will favor the Crowbar for hordes of Hulk and standard Zombies. The high damage and splash cuts through Hulks with ease.

Hulks are commonly found on Easy Company. They appear as part of several major hordes in Chapter 1. They increase in number with difficulty and Squad Rating. Hulks can be tanked quite easily, but be wary. They can easily surround a player, especially when sped up by creep. On Recruit Mode, hulks can be incredibly problematic as new players tend to cling to their GPR-12s, and are unaware of the utility of the flamethrower. A common tactic is to retreat to higher ground and slowly pick them off as they work their way towards the team.
