|Item Name:||Reactive Armor|
Reactive Armor is a very special piece of armor tech that overrides normal gameplay mechanics. It is very rare, and there are only 2 per campaign. Reactive armor is never dropped in Recruit. In Easy Company one is dropped during Chapter 1, and a second is dropped during Chapter 2. In Alpha Company and Apollo Security Team 2 Reactive Armors are dropped during chapter 1.
Reactive Armor takes any damage below 100 and converts it to a maximum of 25. This occurs before normal armor mechanics are factored in. But, Reactive Armor only increases player armor by one. If an attack is strong enough to pierce RA's might, over 100 damage, it will hurt significantly more than it would with other, stronger armors such as C4 or C6. Unfortunately, Reactive Armor will not help against some boss abilities, such as Erebos' Meteorites, or Cronus' Lasers. It will however, guard against both ranged and melee attacks. Reactive Armor can also help a weaker character to survive a hit that would normally kill them outright.
As a general rule, it is wise for tanking classes to carry a C4 or C6 armor in addition to Reactive Armor. Reactive Armor will only add one armor point for hits less than 25 damage or over 100. It is wise to wear C4 or C6 against standard zombie types and use Reactive Armor for enemies with damage over 25 but under 100.
